Living in İstanbul, is like you listen to the most beautiful song from the most beautiful voice. With Bosphros, museums, with natural beauty, islands and history. İstanbul is the place where you must live in and see it. By the way, I recommend it.

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

Student lifestyle is İstanbul is easy, interesting, exciting, comfortable. Universities are so close to city centre and it's not too hard to find accommodation. There are always parties for Erasmus students.

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

If you are a student, it costs around 500$. I think that would be enough for rent and the other expenses.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?

I don't think so, but I recommend you to see the place before you rent it. Turkish people are very friendly and helpful, especially for students.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Turkish food is really delicious and the best. Grills and house foods are my favourite. It is easy to find each taste. You should try kebab, doner and fish in Anadolu Kavagı or İn Islands.

What places would you recommend visiting in Istanbul?

There are lots of place. Sultanahment is the best for historical places. Like Blue Mosque, Basilica, Topkapı Palaca, Hagia Sophia, etc. There also nice natural places like Camlıca Hill. Bosphorus also is a must see. And it is very easy to go to other cities. Green Bursa, Sapanca Lake, etc. I also recommend you to see The East Of Turkey, to see culture.

Is it good to eat out in Istanbul? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Bebek Kirinti, Midpoint, Duurmce (besiktas) Islak Hamburger in Taksim, Burger House, Konyali Etli Ekmek, Recep Usta, Kolcuoglu Kebap, Marmaris bufe, Etliler Marmaris, Kumpir and waffle in Ortakoy square. Numnum, Cigkofte, There are many good doner places in Besiktas there are many close to each other they all good you can try one.

Is the nightlife good in Istanbul? Where is good to go?

• Taksim: bars in Asmali Mescit is good, Kucuk Beyoglu is nice as well. Bars close to Jolly Joker are cheap. Other than that Curcuna is good.
• Bosphorous: Anjelique, Sortie, Reina, Supper.
• Macka: Frame.
• Nisantasi: Pavyon, Cahide (shows).
• Coco Clementine.

What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?

Be open, Turkish people will be glad to host you. If you see some are not nice don't prejudge about all the people here. For girls be ready to be liked by Turkish men.
