What is it like to live in Istanbul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Living in Istanbul is like to live in a 4 season city with more rain than snow and experience both Europian and Asian style at the same time. it’s cheap and easy to live, with little qualification can find a job easily.
What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?
Student can live a good life with with less than $500 USD a month, rent studio or a room in share house and enjoy fresh and tasty fruit, vegetables and food.
How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?
It depends on the Person life style but if you are not prodigal person can manage by less than $500 a month
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?
There is no problem to find a good accomodiation, studio or and Apartment and if you are looking for someone to share with easily find good places in Airbnb
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Rice and bread are predominant. Soup is Turkish favorites and grounded meat, olive oil are always next to Turkish dishes. Turkish foods are a fusion of mediterranean, Balkan,Middle eastern, Central Asian and Eastern Europian.
What places would you recommend visiting in Istanbul?
They have beautiful historical mosques, Museums, old Bazaars like Grand Bazaar, historical palaces.
Is it good to eat out in Istanbul? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes, indeed Istanbul is one of the cities that u should watch your weight while visiting, they have Amazing small businesses like street foods and cafes with delicious food in a really cheap price. There are lots od Modern restaurant next to the mediterrane sea wich u can enjoy the amazing food and view at the same time but of course in a high prices.
Is the nightlife good in Istanbul? Where is good to go?
Istanbul have very high quality places to enjoy the night life, bars, pubs and clubs but if u wanna enjoy in more quiet area you can go just to the cafes next to the beach while enjoying sound of the sea. For partying by the water Sortie and Ruby are the best i guess.
What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?
I would recommend the students to try to find an accomodietion close to their university cause Istanbul has huge traffic during the week days and if not try to live the Asian side of the city more safe and quiet far from crowded areas which can find more modern Places to live.
