What is it like to live in Istanbul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Istanbul can be quite hard some times since it is a busy, crowded, big city. However to live in Istanbul is also so much fun. You can find a place to go any time of the day and night. I can say it is a living city with mostly friendly citizens. Istanbul is a modern and a historical city all in ones. To sum up you can find any entertaiment you want either you are about cultural life or you want to live all the modernized life style.

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

In Istanbul I find it is easier to be student. First of all you can find many places with special student discount. Also it is fun for a student life, entertainments, free or discounted exhibitions and historical place. This city teaches how to live and have fun.

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

It depends on what kind of life you are living to be honest. It can cost a fortune if you live in luxury life. But as an average person I believe it wouldn't be so much then 1000 euros.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?

In Istanbul mostly the student places around Sisli area. It is a central are and open for any opportunites.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food in Istanbul is amazing as you can find any kind of dishes around the world. But ofcourse mostly turkish food. I would recommend "imam bayildi" and "karniyatik" to people who loves eggplant as much as i do. Also in Taksim you can find the best "islak hamburger". In the morning you can either have a rich traditional Turkish breakfast or you can eat delicious Turkish bagel with cream cheese of course all the breakfast options with Turkish tea.

What places would you recommend visiting in Istanbul?

I recommend beside traditional and historical places, to visit all around the bosphorus and of course Taksim.

Is it good to eat out in Istanbul? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It is good. There is not just a few place. In Istanbul you can find any place where suits you.

Is the nightlife good in Istanbul? Where is good to go?

As a night club I recommend the clubs near the sea. But as bar wise, the bars in Taksim and Ortakoy would be fun and entertaining.

What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?

My advice would be to have fun as much as you can and visit places not just turistical but also the places citizens go to .
