How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

As a student, without fees, you need at least 400 £ to discover here and live well in Istanbul.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?

No, local students are very receptive and they really like to accept you to their home friendly. If you dont have financial difficulties, you can also find many good apartments, suites, hostels where you can stay with other erasmus students. I am sure you will find a good flatmate here. :)

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You must try traditional tastes here such as döner, kebap, pide. Also you can find restaurants that serve home cooking.

What places would you recommend visiting in Istanbul?

You can search historical places at first and start with a tour agent to discover here. Then Istanbul will show what he has for you day by day :)

Is it good to eat out in Istanbul? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Sometimes. If you miss your home when you are here, you can always find foods or necessary ingredients you are used to eat.. :)

Is the nightlife good in Istanbul? Where is good to go?

Taksim, Beyoğlu, İstiklal, Galata, Kadıköy, Ortaköy etc. :) Discover these first and every places step by step. Your future turkish friends will probably teach you other special places later..;)

What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?

Don't just live in Istanbul, live Istanbul :) and Turkey of course. Have nice, exciting, entertaining days here :) Welcome by now :)
