There are many different options, but i think there is no perfect place for accomodation, depends on your affort. I prefer student hostels with single rooms or sharing a flat with nice peoples!

Foods are great! Amazing.. but be careful you will get fat a little bit. An advice.. you can try traditional foods and deserts at historical areas

Depends on your personal tastes but i prefer more peaceful points than others. I like calm streets between crowded places.

It is okay! But not the best to me! "Altı üstü köfte" it is traditional meatball point in Üsküdar/ Asian side.. I like there. And "midpoint" it is a lounge/restaurant at Akasya shopping center( Asian side again). And "Punto" is Italian restaurant at Zorlu Center( European side )

Is the nightlife good in Istanbul? Where is good to go?

Yes it is really colorful, depends on your taste and ofcourse budget. Kadıköy area is good for beers and traditional Rakı. Ortaköy has more expensive and more luxury places. Also you can try "Güneşin sofrası" at Kadıköy. It is a "meyhane". Means traditioanal foods in there many! And traditional drink Rakı you can try at there. Very beautiful experience and helps know this culture better!

What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?

Enjoy yourself, be careful about costs, good a fine accomodation and good friends!
