What is it like to live in Istanbul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Istanbul is a pretty busy city. Actually the busiest in Turkey. There are nearly 20 million people living in Istanbul. Sometimes it gets annoying. But most of the time it's worth it. City is both on Europe and Asia. I'd reccommend it, but some areas are so bad. I'd recommend Kadikoy the most. I live there. Kadikoy is pretty bust but yeah.

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

If you are from a European country life'd be easier to you. Because of Euro. You can easily live there. There may be some people that makes your life harder but most of the people are very cooperative and helpful to you. It comes from the Turkish culture. Hospitality is a must.

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

You can stay at a dorm cost 500 liras to 2000 liras, it's your choice. But if you have 500 liras extra aside from dorm cost. You can live easily if you are a person who doesn't have expensive likings.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?

Download Citymapper and transportaion maps to your phone. And search for the place from Google. And if you are going there by foot, ask people from every 3-4 mine because we literally suck at explaining routes.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is delicious. There are food for every liking. You just need to look for it.

What places would you recommend visiting in Istanbul?

Tarihi Yarimada is a must. Blue Mosque, Eminönü, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern and Hagia Sophia are most visited places.

Is it good to eat out in Istanbul? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it definetly is. My favourite place is in Kadıköy. It's a place calles "Lamartine Pub". My favourite thing is Cadde. It's a plate of pasta. You should eat it with bread if you want to end your hunger.

Is the nightlife good in Istanbul? Where is good to go?

I do not like clubbing. So...

What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?

Just ask. There is no harm in it. People will try to help you.
