What is it like to live in Istanbul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I think İstanbul is different from all cities. It is like you never know unless you lived here. If you want to feel chaos, youth and at the same time peace, love İstanbul is your city. There is everything for everyone. Be careful with the city it is not safe as Europe. Especially at nights. But of course there are many safe spots in the city. İstanbul is alive itself. You can experience different cultures. But you should know that we are not like Arabs or Middle East. We don't wear turban and we are equal as mans! Turkish girls are as civilized as European girls.

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

You can have fun very cheaply and almost every night you can go out for partying. Especially European side Taksim, Beşiktaş, Bebek is very popular places. There are lots of bars, pub and coffee shops. Almost every corner you can find Mc Donalds or Burger King and Starbucks.

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

I am living with my family so actually I don't know the exact amount of many but you are bringing Euro you must change it with Turkish lira. And it is very profitable for you because 1 Turkish lira costs 2.9 Euro. So i think money should not be the problem :D

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?

I think this is hard the find an accommodation because rent is very high in here. In the European side always rents are more expensive. You can find cheap houses in bad neighborhood. About dormitory I don't have any idea sorry for not able to help :(

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You I can guaranty that you gain some pounds in here :D Foods are phenomenal! You must go to the Karaköy Güllüoğlu. The best desert place in the world! You can not find pork or bacon in here but Pastırma you can try.

What places would you recommend visiting in Istanbul?

You should visit Kafe Pi places these are the most quality bars in the İstanbul. And in the Anatolian Side you should visit Bağdat Caddesi and Caddebostan Sahil.

What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?

Come and experiance this beautiful city!
