What is it like to live in Istanbul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

City is unique.Its so big it's nothing like other European cities.But it's very crowded.Public transport can turn to a war sometimes.And one of the minus of the city is the subway system is working until 00.00 .It's very bad. Istanbul has lots of historical places in it.Bosphorus is a landscape you must see. And Istanbul has lots of avenues like taksim,besiktas,kadikoy and all of them are very popular .

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

To be honest about partying as a student is pretty hard because of the high cost of alcohol :) students usually smokes Roll-your-own cigarettes because it's cheaper. They like to have fun , most of them goes out in friday or Saturday .

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

It's expensive for Turkish people.But I think guests from Euro zone would find it cheap to live.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?

It's pretty easy I think but I didn't needed to use any hotel in Istanbul so I don't have any advice.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

It's the capital of kebab. I can describe the Turkish food a little bit hard to digest but they are all delicious

What places would you recommend visiting in Istanbul?

Sultan Ahmet square,Hagia sofia,taksim,Beşiktaş,Kadıköy squares.

Is it good to eat out in Istanbul? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes there are lots of good places.one of them is biber burger in besiktas

Is the nightlife good in Istanbul? Where is good to go?

In taksim there are clubs but in my opinion they are way too expensive.You can go other places in taksim like tektekci.Its a great place.

What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?

Don't use taxis.try to use uber instead.Get an Istanbul card which card is let's you use the public transport. Try to learn metrobus and subway's network.
