Experience in Istanbul, Turkey by AYDIN
What is it like to live in Istanbul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Istanbul is the most populated and the most cosmopolitan city in Turkey. There are more things to do, see and eat in Istanbul than in many European capitals combined. I'd totally recommend to live here for sometime.

There are hundreds and hundreds of universities in Istanbul. So many places and activities aim solely at students.
How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?
About 2500TL would be enough for accommodation, food, transportations and a weekly night out and shopping
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?
It's pretty easy though many sites like Airbnb and many Facebook pages and also through erasmusu.com
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is mainly oriantal. It's very similar to Lebanese, Israeli food but also easy to find so many different cuisines.
What places would you recommend visiting in Istanbul?
If you google things to do in Istanbul you'll find more than 60 things. And all of them are indeed worth doing/visiting.

I like home made food restaurants and fusion food restaurants. They are easy to find in many neighbourhoods.
Is the nightlife good in Istanbul? Where is good to go?
Clubs and bars are mainly around Taksim. Again, there are hundreds of them too :)
What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?
Istanbul is more safe than Spain for sure. People don't speak much English, so for easier understanding of culture and getting around , I'd recommend learning some Turkish :)
