Why did you choose to go to Istanbul, Turkey?

Because I love İstanbul

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I didn’t go with a scholarship

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

Nice and simple

Would you recommend the city and the University of Istanbul to other students?

Yes off course but they should learn the language at least the basics

What is the food like?

The food is one of the best things in Turkey and İstanbul

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Istanbul?

It was a little hard because I didn’t speak Turkish at that time

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

500$/month almost

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Some Universities offer courses
And if yours doesn’t then you should find another place and pay

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Istanbul from your city?

The public transportation as it is available almost everywhere in Istanbul and the cheapest

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Istanbul?

There is a lot of clubs and places for a night out like in Ortakoy or Karakoy
And cafes in the asian side

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Istanbul?

Almost all the restaurants are good but here couple of what I like
Burger Joint in Besiktas for a good burger
Golden box in Ortakoy
Huqqa cafe

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There’s the mosques and the palaces

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Istanbul in the future?

Yes, they should have an idea about the country and it’s people and culture
And have at least an idea about the language as most of the Turks don’t speak any other language than the Turkish
