Why did you choose to go to Istanbul, Turkey?

  • I feel turkey is my second home and it not so far away from my home country 

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

  • I have no scholarship

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

  • university students kinda vibes.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Istanbul to other students?

  • yes and no depends on the student’s personality. 

What is the food like?

  • I absolutely hate the food in Istanbul but because I don’t eat meat and the majority of their food is meat.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Istanbul?

  • no.

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

  • Not too much compared with other countries.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

  • I think yes because Turkish have words from so many different languages, and yes there are courses.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Istanbul from your city?

  • Airplane

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Istanbul?

  • i love Istanbul vibes so i would suggest places like Besiktas , ortakoy, uskudar , Fatih, and Taksim.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Istanbul?

  1. in general kaşıbeyaz is Outstanding 

  2.  meatlovers : hd iskender , saraymuhallebici, nusret 

    chickenlovers: Alacatimuhallebici, loftpoint.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

  • Sultanahmet mosque , galata tower , topkapi sarayi , aya sofya.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Istanbul in the future?

  • Yes, learn the language because no one really speaks other languages besides Turkish, be ready for some racism and hilarious streetstrafficand if you’re not ready to face the negative side so don’t come toIstanbul. 

    something everyone should be aware and prepared for?

    please make sure that every paper you need for a residence permit or governmental related is all ready not to get in trouble.
