Why did you choose to go to Istanbul, Turkey?

Istanbul is such a beautiful place, diverse and dynamic. The comfortable life a student could have here

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Istanbul or Turkey in general isn’t that insanely pricey place. Quite affordable for students, it depends on how often do the student go out and what they do. I’d say 2000tl is good to survive the month

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

Istanbul is a huge place and there are loads of places the student could choose to live. Busy places or quiet places. Students will not just be stuck in the university campus, entertainment also and a lot of places to discover.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Istanbul to other students?

Of course. Falling in love with this city is immediate.

What is the food like?

Very diverse. Turkish traditional dishes or international. Food is beautiful and affordable

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Istanbul?

Not really. Flats are everywhere.

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

Not much, can’t give a specific amount but the student would not struggle.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes I think so, taking a Turkish course is one of the easiest thing. Provided everywhere private schools or at universities.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Istanbul from your city?

Traveling from a place to another is not that big deal, public transportation always help.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Istanbul?

Night life here is fun. Cozy cafes local pubs or whatsoever. Taksim and Kadikoy are highly recommended.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Istanbul?

not easy to name any, but you can find any meal that pops up in your mind.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Following a specific guide would help the student find whatever they desire.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Istanbul in the future?

When visiting a busy place, you need to watch your belongings.
