Why did you choose to go to Istanbul, Turkey?
I want meet another culture different from mine.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
6 month, 300€ from my university and 5-600€ from my own pocket.
What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?
handsome, it's full discos, places to visit and so on.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Istanbul to other students?
yes,sure.
What is the food like?
Great, it's a tipical mediterranean food, with something from east. Fantastic!!!
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Istanbul?
Yes a week, I recommend to check different area and appartement. And after that take a decision.
How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?
7-800 € by month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?
The course in my University was in english, Turkish language it's not impossible but you should stay for more than 6 month to understand everything.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Istanbul from your city?
Low cost fly from Fiumicino (Rome) to sabiha gokcen. But I prefer fly to Ataturk with Turkish Airlines.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Istanbul?
On Istiklal, in the discos near the Bosphorus and to see the football and basketball matches.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Istanbul?
You should check on Tripadvisor or in other web site for this things. Try every, refuse nothing.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Topkapi, Roman cistern, Mosques, castes, the bazar, princes island ecc...
Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Istanbul?
Take your time, you should not doing all in a day. enjoy your visit, you're very luckly.
