Why did you choose to go to Istanbul, Turkey?
Cause I gor a scholarship from a Turkish University, plus Turkey is an important country for my area of studies (International Relations)
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
9 months. I received 368 euros from Erasmus plus an extra grant from Turkish University
What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?
A bit predictable.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Istanbul to other students?
Definitely
What is the food like?
Spicy!
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Istanbul?
Nope.
How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?
I would say 650-700 euros a month
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes there. The language might be a bit tricky though!
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Istanbul from your city?
By bus. But its more convenient to go by plane!
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Istanbul?
Lots of bars around Istaklal street. Alternatively, watch a dervis show!
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Istanbul?

What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Chora Church and the Byzantine Walls in the Western Districts, Agia Sophia, Dolmabahce Palace, Topkapi Palace.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Istanbul in the future?
Drugs are easier to find than alcohol!! Enjoy!
