Why did you choose to go to Istanbul, Turkey?

In the simplest sense, I chose Istanbul because I wanted something different, I wanted to be given the chance to meet people of different backgrounds and ideologies and there was nothing better than istanbul to do just that.

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

Pretty smooth. For me, at KOC University, everything was given to me on a golden plate per say. It was a really good experience and I felt at some point that I can do anything whether inside the university or outside.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Istanbul to other students?

Definitey.Go to Kadikoy, Sannayi Mahallesi, Taksim, Besiktas for breakfast. Eski Beyrut and Rittim in Taksim for great parties.

What is the food like?

Perfect.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes there were language courses. The language isnt the easiest but people try their best to make you feel comfortable in this area.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Istanbul from your city?

Metro and buses. Istanbul Kart is your savior.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Istanbul?

Mentioned above. Go for dinner maybe in Kadikoy as it has many good places and party at either eski beyrut or Rittim or any other club which is what kadikoy is known for!!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Ayia Sofia, Dolanabance Palace,Topkapi...etc

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Istanbul in the future?

Dont worry about the safety part in istanbul. It is a safe place as long as you ignore crowded places.
