Why did you choose to go to Istanbul, Turkey?

First of all, I have friends living here, so they recommended me to come to Istanbul. Furthermore, I have heard that this city is full of diversity that is why it attracted me more.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I am staying here for 4 months. For a month I am getting 550 eu.

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

In Istanbul you can find variety of interesting famous places, cafes, bars, clubs and so on, you cannot be bored here.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Istanbul to other students?

Yes, I would recommend the city for all who likes variety, crowdness and fun.
Bilgi University is one of the best private universities in Istanbul, so I would definitely recommend it.

What is the food like?

You can find variety of local food in Istanbul streets. Unfortunately, here is not popuplar foreign cuisines.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Istanbul?

It did not

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

For accommodation : 700-1500

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, students are able to take language courses at University.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Istanbul from your city?

Plane

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Istanbul?

Anybody can find plenty of places in Taksim area.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Istanbul?

All regions in Istanbul is famous because of their local meals (Ortakoy- kumpir, Eminonu-Fish and so on) that is why anybody can find their best places.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Ofcourse Sultan Ahmet, Eminonu regions, visiting modern Asian side (Uskudar).

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Istanbul in the future?

To learn at least basic Turkish (it will help them for daily life);
Before buying any stuff check prices in different places (prices can vary 80 percent);
Be ready for noise, traffic, crowd, beggars, different type of people.
P.S. In any case, Istanbul is amazing city. Just come and try it out.
