Why did you choose to go to Istanbul, Turkey?

I chose it randomly, I am not a good example.

How long was the scholarship? How much money did you receive to help you with living costs?

For the moment nothing, I am still waiting for a grant from my university.

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

It is very great, it is easy to have a drink with a friend, and Turkish tea is gonna be your favourite drink.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Istanbul to other students?

Yes, for sure.

What is the food like?

There are a looooooot of fast foods. But, their breakfasts are the best breakfasts ever, and it is eaten as a brunch.

Lots of eggs and chicken are used in the Turkish food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Istanbul?

No, it is really easy to find something cheap on Craiglist in a share flat.

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

Around 700 euros per month (flat included) and you live very well.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I am always speaking in English, Turkish is not an easy language to learn for French people, because it is an Asian language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Istanbul from your city?

By plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Istanbul?

I love Kadiköy, for all the bars. And if you prefer parties, you will find your happiness at Taksim.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Istanbul?

I don't have a favourite restaurant. But the one on the top of Eminonu is very great, and you can seat on the roof, with a perfect view on the Bosphorus.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Istanbul in the future?

Have fun, this a great city. And be relax, Turkish hours are longer than European hours.
