Why did you choose to go to Innsbruck, Austria?

Innsbruck University has an excellent translation course. The city is just the right size and the surroundings of lakes, the river Inn and the Alps are stunning.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Four months. I received a total of £1600 from Erasmus for the year, having spent the first semester in Valencia, Spain.

What is the student lifestyle like in Innsbruck?

That completely depends on what you decide to do.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Innsbruck to other students?

Yes.

What is the food like?

More expensive than a lot of students may be used to, but all good so far.

Was it hard to find your accommodation in Innsbruck?

Not much. I signed up to OeAD. The joining fee is around 20 euros, but it's the official Austrian students website so I knew all of their recommended accommodation would be legitimate.

How much does it cost to live in Innsbruck?

My rent is 323 euros a month (this is on the cheaper end for Innsbruck) and expenses are around 250 euros a month. This is living on the cheaper end of things. I do not ski or go out to bars/restaurants very often.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I am not taking language classes as my level of German was already high when getting here, but I believe there are classes available to Erasmus students.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Innsbruck from your city?

IVB, the city buses. Students can get a semester ticket for 129 euros that lasts for six months.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Innsbruck?

M&M bar and Moustache bar.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Innsbruck?

The Breakfast Club and Ludwig.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Hofgarten, Nordkette, Schloss Ambras, Goldenes Dachl and the city centre.
