Why did you choose to go to Innsbruck, Austria?

Because it is a small and beautiful city. It combines its historical side with great nature.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

my school gave me 1600€ for 4 months. 1600 alone is not enough to live in here but including the rent of my dorm, I think it is possible to live with a little above 2000€

What is the student lifestyle like in Innsbruck?

There are so many places like restaurants bars and pubs in here but due to covid they are closed so we prefer sitting by the Inn and chatting while drinking.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Innsbruck to other students?

Actually I am studying in PHT which is directly related to ministry of education rather than the uni itself but I definitely recommend the city especially the ones who like nature, skiing and medieval architecture. Also people of Tyrol are quite kind :)

What is the food like?

there are many döner-kebab restaurants but most of them are trash. I still stick with some pizza restaurants and the asian restaurants. I also recommend bake shops.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Innsbruck?

no

How much does it cost to live in Innsbruck?

If you are not going out much and eat out much you can probably okay with 50€ per week only for your kitchen expenses. I also don't do much shopping here. I mean you can add the amount according to your plan.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

actually since this is Tyrol, there are a few dialects of German but let's say 30 percent of the people here speak English so you wouldn't have much of a problem. Yes there are language courses available in the Uni.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Innsbruck from your city?

actually flying from İstanbul to Munich and commuting here with train would be the cheapest option but due to the covid 19 Germany closed its borders so this way it could be kind of tricky. I would recommend you to fly to Wien and then getting on a train. By the way Wien airport has a train station underneath it.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Innsbruck?

Yes. One of them is Machete burrito cartel. And the other one is a bakery it is Cafe Mundi.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are so many churches and cathedrals and you also should visit the old historic city centre. It is a whole other Innsbruck

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Innsbruck in the future?

if you are into skiing please bring your gear because this place is just for you :)
