Waikiki Beach

Hawaii has a magnetic charisma and a magic which you notice from the first moment that you can see the island from thousands of metres above. In the entrance of the airport, a large sign in green and pink gives you a warm welcome and start to what is going to be a great adventure on a paradisal island full of history and life.

For the majority of tourists, the word "Aloha" just means "hello", however, for the Hawaiian population, it has a more profound meaning; it's more like a sincere sentiment to the person who receives the greeting, making a connection between both parties. It's a culture that has been passed on from generation to generation and it's one of the words which characterise the island and the energy that is perceived.

The people are so radiant and open to visitors, they also play a role in providing a warm stay, not only due to the climate but also because of the friendliness of the people. Furthermore, the combination of extensive and green coloured mountains and valleys make this island a harmonious place.

Waikiki is one of the most touristy and renowned beaches on the island. It has a variety of restaurants, cafés, bars and ice cream shops catering to all kinds of tastes, the ones that you come to first which are located close to the beach, more specifically on the main street, the ones which border the beach, create the perfect combination of relaxation and commerce.

The clear, warm, soft sand invites you to take a revitalising break in the heat or to play some volleyball on one of the courts which are found in various strategic points all along the beach. Also, Waikiki beach has ecological trails for short walks in nature with the aim of exercising your body, mind and spirit. For the sunrise lovers, there is the possibility to enjoy starting off the day with lots of energy because the rays of sun constantly light up the sky in the morning, making a show of it which is something that is worth photographing.

Surfing is one of the most enjoyed tourist activities. On the other hand, Mahalo is another word that you hear a lot in the streets, establishments, shops, restaurants, hotels and in general, because it means "thank you" and the locals appreciate it when foreign people want to communicate and learn the native language. It's an excellent opportunity to learn more about the culture and to get to know the culture which has a lot of emotion.
