What is it like to live in Hamburg? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Everything works perfectly, transport, public services, etc.

But if you're from a developing country, or you are not blonde, you'll feel very different from the second you open your mouth and they notice you're not German... If you are blonde they'll find your accent or way of speaking "cute", if you're not you may be mistreated.

Hamburg is a very expensive city. Transport and housing are unbearable. Life costs almost the same in Scandinavia.

No, super easy, super expensive and super easy.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

It's quite cosmopolitan, you can find anything, local dishes are normally with sea food, which is delicious... You have to have in mind that Hamburg is not Baviera, Hamburg has ancient connections with the viking cities, the "Hanseatic" cities, the ports, the sailors and not with the pig farmers.

Reeperbahn, Portuguese Neighborhood and any Weihnachtsmarkt

If you're not blonde, don't come. If you come, try to make friends within the Uni, don't go to far of the axis Reeperbahn-Londungsbrucken, there you'll be respected. If you are blonde you'll be very well received by everybody.
