Girona is an amazing city jus north of Barcelona. It is a very charming city; it is much quieter than Barcelona but like every city has its gems! My favorite part about this city is the medieval sections. There is so much history in this part of the city and it is so beautiful to walk around. Within the medieval section there’s so much to see! They have a beautiful Cathedral fit into a tiny space. You walk through these little narrow streets until you get to an open space and see the cathedral with stairs rising to the sky it is so beautiful and perfect. Inside it is amazing and lots of history to read. I recommend seeing this and gong inside and walking around, it’s precious. There is also the Jewish quarter to visit and a museum as well. Sometimes it’s better to go to the museums or take a tour so you understand all the history and know everything. The Jewish quarter is one of the best preserved in all of Europe. You can also go and see the Arab baths, which is always fun to see! There is also a river that runs through named Onyar River, along this river is beautiful little apartments that make it look like Ponte Vecchio! There are also a couple of bridges that cross over the river and connect it to the other side. One of the bridges is called the Eiffel Bridge. It is called the Eiffel Bridge because it was constructed by Gustave Eiffel and looks just like the material the Eiffel tower is used with. On one banks of the river there is a fun restaurant that actually is over the river so you can look out. It is very small maybe eight people and reservation only!
There is a great restaurant called Txalaka located near here. It is tapas and is amazing! All different types of tapas and it is very good quality as well. There is another restaurant not much further, you can walk if you would like, its called Can Manolo. This place is absolutely amazing, one of my favorite restaurants. They have the best pan con tomate as well as a dish with potatoes and angulas (baby eels) if you don’t like that they have the same but with chorizo. The jamon is also amazing here, everything!! It is a very famous restaurant anybody whose anybody knows this place!! So good! There is also a great gelateria place very famous called Rocambolesc Gelateria. This place is amazing, the gelato is soo good and you can put any toppings you want on top! They also have warm bread and they put the gelato inside with whatever toppings you want inside as well! It is sooo good you have to go here!
