I want to find a house NOW!

Dali Theatre and Museum

Published by flag-us Lauren Armstrong — 8 years ago

The Dali Theatre and Museum is located in Figueres, Spain near Girona. It is just north of Barcelona and is very easy to get to by train. Figueres is a small city and very beautiful and mainly known for the Dali Museum and Theatre. The museum use to be Dali’s house where he sometimes lived. He lived in many different houses in different areas but this was his main one. The house in itself is amazing and so beautiful, and all his artwork is displayed around the house. It is like a maze going through his house starting in one area and then end up in another. There are many of his paintings, sculptures, and much more artwork filling up the walls and spaces of his house. The artwork also engages you, there’s one sculpture where you have to stand on an elevated area and look in that direction to see the full face of a lady. Dali himself designed the museum so everything is very quirky. Dali was an amazing artist and you will be impressed by his work. I suggest reading a little bit about him before coming here or reading about his artwork. This will help to describe some of the things you see in his house and how it is not a normal museum. At the end there is a gift shop, which I recommend, getting something because Dali has a lot of great symbols, which they make into souvenirs. You will also see the theatre, which is amazing; it is a dark red building with huge eggs on the top all around the building and sculptures of bread all on it. It is such an amazing building, very weird but completely Dali!

There are places right in front of the museum to eat and drink if you find yourself hungry or want to grab a coffee or water. The town of Figueres is very cute and it is fun to walk around and see it.

This is a great day trip and I recommend to do it if you can get away from a day depending where you are!
