The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!

In this article I want to share some information about avocado and why you should eat it and how you should eat it. I don’t know if many people know that information, however, I’m sure, that there are not many people in Georgia who buy avocados and eat them and if they want to, they probably don’t know how to do that.

Did you know, that avocado has many vitamins in it? Or did you know, that it’s good for the weight loss and in your diet? Or, perhaps, you have heard, that you should consume avocado from time to time, however, you may have never heard of the reasons why you should eat avocado. So that, let me tell you some things about it.

Well, avocado is a tree “Persea Americana”, which is thought to be from Peru and it has 160 kcal in 100 grams, which gives you very rich food content, I guess. They say, that there are many other beneficial things in avocado and that’s why you have to consume it from time to time. You know, it’s also known as an alligator pear or butter fruit and I don’t know whether to call it fruit or not, but it’s not that important, if you ask me.

Avocado is distributed in many countries, including Georgia and though it’s kind of expensive to buy just one avocado, it’s wonderful for our health, and we shouldn’t spare money on not buying avocados. However, it’s like it doesn’t really have a taste and that’s why people don’t’ really like it, if you ask me.

Well, as it’s known, avocado is a fruit, however, it’s not sweet or something like that, rather, it doesn’t contain carbohydrates as other fruits do, but it contains healthy fats, which are wonderful for us. There are many beneficial facts about avocado, which I can tell you now to show you why you should eat avocados.

First, avocado is very nutritious. It can be added to any sorts of dishes and it’s the main ingredient in guacamole, if you love it, you should know it.

To be honest, there are different kinds of avocados, which differ in shape and color. For example, they can be pear-shaped or round and green and dark green and black, etc. each of them have different weights, too, of course. Avocados can be more than one kilogram, too, if you want to know the truth.

Avocados contain about 20 different vitamins and minerals and that’s why they are very good in our diet. They contain vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, vitamin E, Folate, potassium and also some magnesium, copper, iron, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, etc.

Well, if you lack some potassium, you can eat avocados, because many people just know, that they can fill themselves with potassium by eating bananas or potatoes, however, if you eat avocados, they contain more potassium than those bananas.

Avocados contain lots of fats, however, they are healthy unsaturated fats, so that they are pretty good for our organism and that’s one of the reasons why we should eat them.

Avocados have lots of fiber in them, too, so that they are pretty recommended for those who want to lose weight.

While eating avocados, you can have your cholesterol levels decreased and that’s another good thing for the healthy body, if you want to know the truth.

Avocados also play a great role in metabolism and they also contain antioxidants, which help protect the eyes, hence they are good for the eyes, too. They lower the risk of macular degeneration and cataracts.

Creamy avocado sauce

Well, you can just take the avocado and cut it into halves and have that inside taken out and then kind of spread it on a loaf of bread and eaten and that will be an easy way of eating avocado with pleasure, however, you can either prepare some sauce from avocado, which will be even more delicious, than just the avocado, so that, I will tell you a very simple recipe of how to prepare this avocado sauce, which is really creamy and delicious to spread it on bread and eat it like that.

Ingredients:

  • Avocados, 2 medium
  • Limes, 3 medium
  • Cilantro, chopped, 1/3 cup
  • Jalapeño, 1 piece
  • Garlic cloves crushed, 3
  • Ground cumin, 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil, 1/3 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Preparation process

First, you need to take those two avocados and take their skin out. Well, it’s very easy, if you just cut the avocado into halves and then take a tablespoon and kind of take the inside of the avocado from its skin, I mean, separate them. We usually need the inside of the avocado to eat and not the skin or that big stone inside it.

After that, you have to squash those three limes. We need the juice to add to the avocados and it will be about half of a cup of lime juice, I guess.

Then, we need to chop the cilantro, so that it will be 1/3 cup. And we need that jalapeño without its seeds and vein not to have a bitter taste.

People usually have garlic cloves crushed and added to the sauce, however, I don’t really use them into my sauce, because I don’t really love garlic, so that I can just add a little of crushed garlic or I can have some ground garlic added to the sauce or not added at all.

Then you have to take a blender or something like that and I usually use my chopper-blender for that. You can put the inside of the avocados into the chopper-blender and add the lime juice and cilantro and jalapeño and garlic, too, if you want to, and you should also add some olive oil to the ingredients. After that, you should add the ground cumin and salt and pepper to your taste and that’s it! You can then turn the blender on and mix all the ingredients together. You know, the lime juice is a fantastic thing in that, because it makes the sauce taste a little different and better, if you ask me.

If the sauce is very creamy and thick, you can add extra olive oil to the sauce and it will get the desired consistency. You can also add the lime juice for that, however, if it is too much, then the taste will be bad and sour and you don’t really want that, I guess.

People usually refrigerate the sauce until they use it, because that way all the ingredients are incorporated with each other and the sauce has a better taste after some time, of course.

After all of that, you can have the sauce added to any dishes or spread it on bread or whatever, it is good with many things and it’s very healthy. And, besides, it doesn’t have many calories or bad fats.
