What places would you recommend visiting in Gdansk?

There's some museums if you like that kind of entertainment. I really recommend Park Oliwski - both for romantic walk and relaxing while during the day, every time of the year :) You must be by the sea. It's nice to make a round through the Old Town and Motlawa River! You can also visit Westerplatte - place where II WW began. However, if you have some free time you should go to Sopot and Gdynia, another cities partnering Trojmiasto (Tricity).

Is it good to eat out in Gdansk? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Well, everyone can find sth. There are also cheap and expensive ones. There's a lot of Italian and Chinesee restaurants, kebabs' and pizzas' "bars". But I think it's quite hard to find restaurant with a real Polish cuisine. Although that's attractive to visit 'bar mleczny' - feelin' like 70's in PRL (comunism) - very cheap and rather tasty.

Is the nightlife good in Gdansk? Where is good to go?

In my opinion it's better to party in Sopot. Anyway in Gdansk there's a lot of good pubs in Old Town - then in weekends there's some parties (Red Light, Absinthe Cafe). If you are above 21 - visit Miasto Aniolow but the most people go to Parlament (it used to be a better place). If you want to sing karaoke or play PubQuiz (Polish language) I recommend Ygrek near to UG Campus in Gdansk-Oliwa.
