Why did you choose to go to Gdansk, Poland?

I could choose between Gdansk and Sopot, but since the summer semester was provided for Gdansk (and I've heard it's not the best thing to come here during the winter) I opted for this place. But I have to mention that even during the spring weather isn't very pleasant, wind is constant, it's cloudy most of the time, so you have to prepare yourself. But don't let that discourage you, cause there is also many nice things you can see and experience.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I receive enough money, and I'm really surprised by prices in here, cause it's twice cheaper than in my home country. So don't worry about that, you can also save some money if you want or if you able not to spend more than you supposed to.

What is the student lifestyle like in Gdansk?

It's pretty good. There is a lot of places that give a discount to students. We have enough time for studying and also for partying.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Gdansk to other students?

Of course.

What is the food like?

Well, I haven't been in restaurants yet, but I've seen there is a lot of different types of them according to different cultures. But they have amazing donuts (you have to try the Rafaelo one)!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Gdansk?

Not at all. I was searching for it from Belgrade and it took me about 3-5 days to manage it. I'm living with two friends in a private flat and we didn't have any problem so far, but sometimes you have to find an appropriate way to communicate with owners cause most of them don't know to speak English.

How much does it cost to live in Gdansk?

If you find a place in a dormitory you are a lucky person (but only if you get a well-equipped room, cause I've heard it's not always like that). And if you want to live in a private flat you should find roommates. When it comes to other things they are absolutely acceptable.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It's easier for me cause my native language is pretty similar, but I'm also trying to learn a little bit of Polish. They have organized courses which I'm not attending (I know, I'm a lazy person). And the most important thing is - they don't like to speak English (for example in stores), so try to be as much polite as you can.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Gdansk from your city?

I came here by train, cause I want to travel as much as I can while I'm here (I took an Interrail ticket), it took me about 28 hours, but it was fun since I wasn't traveling alone. The price of this ticket is almost equal to the price of airline ticket.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Gdansk?

Nowhere! Just kidding... but seriously, it isn't allowed to smoke inside and to drink outside, so the best option for me is to stay at home and enjoy both.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Gdansk?

Like I said, I haven't been in any of them.
