Why did you choose to go to Gdansk, Poland?

Between the options that I had, this was my first option. Maybe because of the prices, speaking English, and other suggestions about Poland.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship is 9 months from October to the final of June, more or less, depends on the period of exams.

I receive about 300 euros per month until the 5th month. Then, my university at home give me 100 euros per month from 6 to 9 month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Gdansk?

Well, it is depend of how many subjects you bring and the difficulty of these subjects, like in other universities. But, normally there are many subjects that you can pass with an oral presentation and an exam, or even without exam. You have to be clever with the choose.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Gdansk to other students?

The city is very beautiful, mainly the Old Town. I'm in University of Technology, so I can't say nothing about University of Gdańsk.

With respect University of Technology, maybe it is not the most easy to pass, but this University is very famous in Poland.

What is the food like?

Very typical dishes are pierogies, soup Zurek (I don't recommend you see what it is made with, first try it, because it is really good).

And I don't know, the food is very different is you came from the South of Europe.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Gdansk?

No, for me was really easy. I am in a dorm, and I only had to fill a document online (you have to be fast if you want a place).

How much does it cost to live in Gdansk?

It is cheap. If you live in a dorm (about 85 euros per month), plus food, some party or anything you want I think with 350 euros per month is okay. If you want to travel, ir is cheap too.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The Polish is imposible to learn for me. But there are courses available in the university if you want to try..

The majority of people speak English, no problem.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Gdansk from your city?

The easiest way is to take 2 flights (changing your flight maybe in London or Germany). But it is not the cheapest way.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Gdansk?

If you want to go to party you can go to Bunkier and Parlament. But of course if you want a beer there are many many places in Old Town.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Gdansk?

I recommed you KOS this is a restaurant with good food and is cheap, in the Old Town.

If you like pizza... for me the best is Da Grasso. And if you like hamburguers... Bobby, for sure.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

All in Old Town.
