Erasmus Experience in Gdansk, Poland by Göksu
Why did you choose to go to Gdansk, Poland?
I've never been in Poland before. That's why I thought it was going to be a different experience for me, and also the city and the country itself are so close to other countries. It makes easier to travel whenever you want with buses and cheap flights.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I am staying in Gdansk for a year but my scholarship covers just one semester and it is around 1, 000 euros. It is not enough for anything obviously. My rent is around 280 euros per month, and with the other expenses, it is around 600 euros per month. The scholarship is not really enough for anything.
What is the student lifestyle like in Gdansk?
There are a lot of options for students in Gdansk. ESN organizes regular parties and events all the time and they are also giving advice to the students for any event. In Poland, there are lots of opportunities for skiing, hiking, swimming... and it is also full of history. So, I am certainly sure everybody will find whatever they want.
