What is the student lifestyle like in Gdansk?

Good! You get close to the other students and it is very cheap compared to my home country. But it is very important to be prepared mentally and work hard, because school expects a lot from you. But most of the teachers are really good at their job!

Would you recommend the city and the University of Gdansk to other students?

Yes!

What is the food like?

It is very cheap, I go out for dinner at least once a week. I have not tasted so much traditional Polish food, but they have restaurants from all over the world, you can choose the restaurant that fits better the type of food you like!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Gdansk?

I paid an agent to find an apartment for me. She was really helpful, and she still helps me if I have any problem with the apartment (Dom&House)!

How much does it cost to live in Gdansk?

It depends on how much money you use. I have an expensive apartment compared to other students (about 2900zl/month), and I do not follow any budget, therefore a lot of money goes. But it is very cheap to live and eat here, the only thing I can compare the prices to Norway is the shopping (clothes etc).

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It is hard, but they have obligatory classes each week at school. I manage to understand some words now, and also communicate with the lady in the grocery shop.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Gdansk from your city?

Direct flight with Wizz Air (expensive with luggage).

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Gdansk?

Sopot.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Gdansk?

Buddha lounge for Indian food, La Cuccina for Italian food, and La Pampa Steak House for steaks (you often need to book a table in these places).
