Why did you choose to go to Enschede, Netherlands?

I chose it, because I was accepted for a master's degree at the University of Twente.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I have no scholarship.

What is the student lifestyle like in Enschede?

Enschede is not a big city. The options to have fun or to live a dream student life aren't a lot. There aren't a lot of bars to go out. House parties are always the best options.

What is the food like?

Personally, I didn't like dutch food. Eating fast food is not cheap, but not expensive either. Eating at restaurants is impossible, unless you have money. Cooking my own meals is my go to.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Enschede?

It wasn't easy. There are two major facebook groups, where someone can look for ads. I didn't have any luck, so in the end I resided in a rental agency. Honestly, it is not a bad option, they don't charge a lot and you avoid the hassle.

How much does it cost to live in Enschede?

I think that a monthly cost of 800 euros, including the rent, is what someone has to expect.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The languange is easy to learn if you already know german. There are languange courses at the university. Finding the proper accent is really hard. I do recommend to everyone, not to be lazy about it and to start learn the languange.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Enschede from your city?

Well...airplane for me

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Enschede?

There are not a lot of options, so it's useless to recommend anything.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Enschede?

Same rule applies as above

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are a few parks and of course the woods. There are museums but honestly I didn't have the time to visit them.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Enschede in the future?

If you like living in a really big city, you will be dissapointed. But enschede is a great city for studying, because you don't have a lot of distractions.
