What is it like to live in Craiova? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Craiova is easy. Prices are affordable, in some places more than others, transport is not the best in the world but you have a bus every 10 minutes, and students pay only half, trains are free for students even private ones. The city is not too big and you can get bored of it but if you are a party animal you will find lots of clubs.

What is the student lifestyle like in Craiova?

University in Craiova is quite easy, teachers are friendly exams are not too hard. You get lots of discounts for being a student.

How much does it cost to live in Craiova?

It depends I spend around 250 euros every month and I eat out once per week.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Craiova? Is there any advice you can give?

Accommodation in Craiova is very easy to find. You can live in the dorms (shared room with another person who beds, one tv, one desk, fridge and bathroom with shower in the room) for 50 euros per month. Or get a flat 2 rooms one bathroom, kitchen and a balcony for 200 euros. For the bills I am not sure in the dorms but if you live in a flat prices are higher during winter in December I paid 150 for all the bills during spring and summer bills are around 80 euros (I also pay for fiber internet). If you want a flat then look on olx.com and type apartament.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food in Craiova is great (just don't go for chocolate, it all tastes like rum) you can find any type of food. My favourite dishes are cartofi țărănești and tocăniță.

What places would you recommend visiting in Craiova?

In Craiova you must visit, parcul Romanescu, grădina botanică, the city center the old and the new, and all museums are nice.

Is it good to eat out in Craiova? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

If you want to eat good Romanian food the restaurant for you is Galaxy it has Romanian food. If you are looking for good pizza (my dad is Italian and we own a pizzeria in Italy so trust me I know a good pizza when I taste one) pizzeria da Trevi is the best in the city but they don't deliver if you want a delivery pizza then go for pizzeria Traian. Pizza Ibiza is not the best but it's open 24/7. Spartan is a Greek gyros place it's quite nice. Romanians go crazy for shaorma

Is the nightlife good in Craiova? Where is good to go?

I don't know much about the night life but my friends say it's great!

What advice would you give future students heading to Craiova?

Just chill.
