Experience in Córdoba, Spain by Inés

Would you recommend the city? How is it?

Córdoba is an ideal city for me. It's neither too small nor too big and you can calmly go on foot from one side to the other side. It also has a bus network that connects all neighbourhoods.

What is the student lifestyle like in Córdoba?

The student lifestyle is very good in Córdoba, especially in Ciudad Jardin area, where there are many pubs. In addition, most of the students usually go out to some clubs in the city centre.

How much does it cost to live in Córdoba?

Córdoba is an affordable city, you can easily find flats for 200 euros in areas next to the University.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Córdoba?

In Ciudad Jardin, which is close to the city centre, you can find some old flats to hire. If you are going to study at the medicine or education faculties or the Loyola University, the best thing to do is living in Parque Cruz Conde, where there are also cheap flats and student residences.

What is the food like?

Food is great. The typical Cordoban dishes are flamenquines and salmorejo.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Mosque, Medina Azahara, the Roman Bridge, the Archaeological Museum, the Julio Romero de Torres Museum, etc.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Córdoba?

The best thing to do is going to some restaurants with typical food but outside the historical centre where they are normally more expensive.

My favourite ones are Moriles, Cigala de Oro and Casa Fran.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Córdoba?

Góngora, Palazzio, Banagher and Babylonia.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Córdoba in the future?

Enjoy Córdoba! It's a worthy city and close to Seville and Granada (just in case you want to visit them and go to big shopping centres) or Málaga (for going to the beach).
