Experience in Córdoba, Spain by Pilar

Why did you choose to go to Córdoba, Spain?

I think that Córdoba is a very comfortable city close to many places, I recommend it if you want calm and comfort, since it is not a troubled city.

What is the student lifestyle like in Córdoba?

The student lifestyle isn't very active since Córdoba is a small city and there aren't many places to go out. However, when the weather gets better, people start to cheer up. During Winter there isn't too much activity among students (parties, trips... etc)

How much does it cost to live in Córdoba?

Córdoba is cheap, you can go out to have a drink without problems (take into account that I'm currently living in Norway and I now realise how good life is in Córdoba). Pubs won't cost more than... 10 euros even on special days. You can also go for dinner and it won't be too expensive. (It depends on the site and area); )

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Córdoba?

I have always lived in Córdoba so I have never looked for accommodation haha. However, I'm an Erasmus tutor (I help Erasmus students of my University with the accommodation) and we have never had any problem, there are always many offers.

What is the food like?

I can only describe food as FANTASTIC.

It's so hard to choose my favourite dish but I love the tortilla de patatas, fried eggs with potatoes, jamón and flamenquín... and SALMOREJO obviously!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Mosque, the Alcázar, Medina Azahara, the historic centre, (Judería and Roman Bridge... )

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Córdoba?

My favourites places... If you want I will name the most visited ones by students.

- Moriles

- El Globo

- 100M

- Amaltea (it's a little bit different, but the site is fabulous)

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Córdoba?

The typical ones are maybe Gógora, Sojo, some pubs located in Vial Norte... And Banagher in Ciudad Jardín!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Córdoba in the future?

As a piece of advice, be prepared for the heat if you come from northern countries, Córdoba is such a hot city, and for the rest, maybe you should look for accommodation as soon as you can to find more offers, and that's all, enjoy the city, which is beautiful!
