Experience in Copenhagen, Denmark by Theresa

What is it like to live in Copenhagen? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Yes! Fabolous but rather expensive. The weather is only nice a couple of months a year.. But then we really enjoy it!

What is the student lifestyle like in Copenhagen?

Casual.

How much does it cost to live in Copenhagen?

Pretty much... 530 euro is pretty normal for a room. You can get small apartments a bit cheaper, but they are not easy to find. A shared flat is very common.
The dorm rooms though are not so expensive, but most cases filled up with 3 years waiting lists in the city.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Copenhagen? Is there any advice you can give?

Medium. If it is easy it is probably expensive.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I am a vegetarian which is super easy in Copenhagen. You can pretty much get anything... Don't know how to answer til question. My favorite dish... Hmm...

What places would you recommend visiting in Copenhagen?

For Art Louisiana, architecture Ørestaden - and that area, shopping small streets Vesterbro, Christiania of course (maybe not just take a walk in the afternoon and see almost nothing - go to a party on Børneteatret or Operaen when you are there), Esplanaden is pretty and the Navy Academy Holmen is pretty cool also... The area called Refshaleøen has a ton of nice stuff! Can't list all here though... Adventure and nice outdoorsie cocktails I would say :)

Is it good to eat out in Copenhagen? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Mormors (café), Fiat (restaurant), morgenstedet (veggie not so pricey food at Christiania), the best thai restaurant is also just inside the first entrance of Christiania (not the main entrance the small corner one) but I cannot remember the name - but it is very nice!

Is the nightlife good in Copenhagen? Where is good to go?

I do not go to clubs that much... But high end weirdness 'chateu motel' and low end weirdness; whatever is going on somewhere Christianshavn/Christiania almost :D

What advice would you give future students heading to Copenhagen?

Bring varm clothes unless you are only here for June-August :)
