Erasmus Experience in Copenhagen, Denmark by Pamella
Why did you choose to go to Copenhagen, Denmark?
Only place that had the course my husband wanted.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I don't have a scholarship nor am I studying right now.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Copenhagen to other students?
There are many interesting courses in the university, but the weather can be harsh, which can be a good thing, no distractions from studying.
What is the food like?
I am vegan, and there aren't many options for me around here.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Copenhagen?
A lot, it is extremely hard to find a place here. In fact, I am living at a illegal rent because I just can't get a regular place to rent with a contract, because there is way more demand than offer.
How much does it cost to live in Copenhagen?
Very much. People here have good salaries, so everything is expensive if you are bringing money from outside. If you get a job here, though, you'll be fine.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Sort of, it has a bit in common with English, that can be understood in writing. The pronunciation, thought, is quite hard to get.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Copenhagen from your city?
There is only one, plane.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Copenhagen?
Studenterhuset, a nice bar close to the Copenhagen University.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Copenhagen?
Harbo Bar and Café Ñ have delicious brunches; Naturbargeriet is a great bakery.
