Why did you choose to go to Copenhagen, Denmark?

I actually think that Copenhagen chose me, when I was looking for a place to do my Erasmus Traineeship a year ago, the University of Copenhagen was the first to reply to my application.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It's 3 months and the university gave me 400 € a month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Copenhagen?

I actually don't know because I'm here doing an internship, so I haven't been to student events.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Copenhagen to other students?

I absolutely recommend the city, even if it's expensive! I don't know about the University of Copenhagen but I think it's good.

What is the food like?

It's good! I recommend the Smørrebrød or open-faced sandwich at the food market near Nørreport station, it's delicious!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Copenhagen?

It was pretty hard to find accommodation here, mostly because there are lots of scammers. I was very lucky with my house search in the end.

How much does it cost to live in Copenhagen?

I can't give you a right answer, I think it depends on your lifestyle. I just can say that I thought I would spend more money than I actually did.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is really difficult! So, I recommend doing a language course before coming here, just to learn the basics.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Copenhagen from your city?

By plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Copenhagen?

Vestergade is a street full of pubs and bars where you can always find a nice place on the weekend.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Copenhagen?

I can't because I didn't have dinner or lunch in any restaurant.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Rosenborg Castle, the National Museum, the Royal Library...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Copenhagen in the future?

Just enjoy the city and try as many new things as you can. Don’t forget to visit the Carlsberg brewery and Frederiksberg Gardens.
