Erasmus Experience in Copenhagen, Denmark by olugbenga
Why did you choose to go to Copenhagen, Denmark?
I chose copenhagen university because they are participating in the research that I am interested in and because I got a scholarship
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
Duration of the program -2 years.
About 8000kr
What is the student lifestyle like in Copenhagen?
For me it's a bit more hectic than my Bachelor's degree. I had a take home exam for which I had to stay up for about 40 straight hours doing some programming. Asides from that, it's been a good experience I have learnt a lot from the courses I have taken so far.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Copenhagen to other students?
It's a beautiful city but very expensive. I would recommend copenhagen but you have to be open minded.
What is the food like?
Food?? There is almost no food here. Nothing new on the menu: bread and potatoes. Maybe a lit bit exaggerated.
How much does it cost to live in Copenhagen?
It depends on what you are buying. If you cook less then you spend more on food. I cook more so I spend less on food. You could buy a bicycle or a monthly bus card then you spend less on transport. If you the former, you have to spend on transportation just once when you buy a bike and that's it.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Perspective matters on the issue of language.I haven't started learning but hope to start next year. Pronunciation may be a little but awkward but again open-mindedness. Yes there are courses at the university
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Copenhagen from your city?
Airplane
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Copenhagen in the future?
Be open-minded
