Why did you choose to go to Copenhagen, Denmark?

In reality, it wasn't my first choice; since I would have preferred to have gone to places in the United Kingdom over Denmark. I put it in my options because the classes at the university were taught in English, which was what really interested me.

How long is the scholarship for? How much money do you receive as aid?

My scholarship lasted 11 months and I received €400 a month.

How is student life in Copenhagen?

In being the capital, Copenhagen has a number of universities, for which in regards to university students the atmosphere is very ample and very pleasant.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Copenhagen to other students?

Of course, the city ends up captivating you with even those -10ºC Winters coming to have their charm.

How is the country's food?

Lets see... Due to the prices in the majority of the city's establishments, my Erasmus wasn't characterised by its continuous visiting of restaurants, nor by making a habit of trying the local cuisine but the few opportunities I got to try regional dishes fascinated me. They have really appetising dishes.

Was it hard to find accommodation in Copenhagen?

Not at all. The university provided me with accommodation before I started my Erasmus.

How much does it cost to live in Copenhagen?

Including the rent and assuming that the only form of transport used is the bike, around €700 a month. However with more frequent usage of public transport, things can end up at around €800-€900 a month.

How is the language? Did you go to any course at the University?

People between the ages of 18 and 60 speak perfect English. Unless friends are sought out outside of this age range... therefore then yes, it would then be more recommendable to attend a course in Danish.

What is the most economic way of getting to Copenhagen from your city?

By plane, obviously.

Which places would you recommend to go out to party in Copenhagen?

  • Pop/Indie: Joline and the majority of the pubs in the city center.
  • Dubstep/Electronic: Culture Box, Ritz.
  • "Danish rave": Kulør Bar.

And to eat in Copenhagen? Can you name your favourite places?

As I've already said I don't have a favourite place but biking back at 5am during Winter, the Turkish in Nørrebrogade go over really well.

And as a cultural visit?

It's very different to the Spanish culture; for which being expressing a bit of interest, it's possible to learn a lot. Very recommended.

Any advice that you want to give to future students in Copenhagen?

Try not to steal more bikes. Walk. We have a reputation around there that makes them angry. The worst part is that we earned it.
