Sri Lankan chicken curry recipe
Sri Lankan chicken curry recipe
Today in the evening I wanted to taste some spicy food. At that time, my mother made a call and while I was chatting with her, I said about my desires to eat a spicy food. Then she found her old recipes book and told me about this chicken curry. I started to make it and I could end up with a tasty curry which I could eat with rice or bread. So, I thought to share it with you.
Ingredients
- 1kg of chicken
- 1 ts of salt (this can be changed according to you taste)
- 1 ts of chili powder (if you cannot eat chili then you can skip this)
- 1 ts of curry powder
- 1 big tomato
- 7 curry leaves
- One big onion
- 4 cloves of garlic
- Ginger
- Soya souse
- One chili (if you cannot eat chili then you can skip this)
- 4 tbs of coconut powder
- Bit of oil
- One cup of water
You should wash the chicken cut into small pieces and add salt, curry powder, chili powder and soya source. Then keep it for 30 minutes to marinate well. Then get a pot and add the oil. Then add onion, garlic, ginger and curry leaves. When the onions turn in to a golden color add tomato and the marinated chicken in to the pot. Then close the pot and cook it under low or medium heat. After 20 or 30 mins, you can see the juice of the chicken curry. Then you can mix coconut powder in to a one cup of water and add it in to the curry. Then let it cook under low heat for another 10 mins.
After that curry is ready to eat. I hope you will enjoy the recipe. If you have tried it then please add the comments.
