Colombo is the economic Capital of Srilanka. A very beautiful city in this amazing Island, Colombo is very modern in term's of transport. Very warm local's. City is very cultural and full of customs.

What is the student lifestyle like in Colombo?

Foreign student activity is mainly from student's of SAARC union countries. There are student club's/union's at universities. Parties/social event are organized by various student associations all year long.

How much does it cost to live in Colombo?

Colombo is a very economical city to live in. I always recommend buying food from supermarket or the bazaar and cook at home. But there are also cheap south indian restaurant's to eat in.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Colombo? Is there any advice you can give?

Accommodation is not very difficult to find. There are always newspaper advert's and you can always check the internet for accommodation, cost's are very low for single room's

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There is a wide variety of dishes available in Colombo. Srilankan, Indian, Western cuisine, Chinese, Japanese e. t. c My personal favourite's are Srilankan rice and curry, Indian parata with panner curry e. t. c

I recommend you guy's drink out before going in as some of these clubs charge absurd prices for beverage's.

What advice would you give future students heading to Colombo?

Remember to organize everything regarding the university and the accommodation before coming to the Island, as you will find it a little inconvenient, but you can always find a motel or a 2-3 star for a few day's until you find a good place to rent out. All the best!
