Twin dragon buffet - all you can eat Chinese food!
Who doesn’t love Chinese food? And who doesn’t love unlimited food? By eating at Twin dragon buffet, you can combine both! I have discovered this amazing place somehow by accident. Me and my friend were driving home from Kentucky and we were starving, so we literally decided to eat at the first place that pops up on google close to where we were, regardless on the reviews. And I am so glad that the first result was the Twin dragon buffet. Why do I like it so much? Feel free to read more to find out.
Where is Twin dragon buffet situated?
Twin dragon buffet is situated in West Chester, Ohio, about halfway between Dayton and Cincinnati. More precisely, on 7763 Tylersville road. The place itself is surrounded by other restaurants and small shops, but do not worry - the big red sign above the place is hard to miss.
The Twin dragon buffet itself has a pretty uninviting exterior. After all, it is part of a shopping complex, and storefronts at most shopping complexes unfortunately all look pretty uninteresting. But once you enter the Twin dragon buffet, you will be pleasantly surprised.
The unsuspecting entrance into the Twin dragon buffet. Since me and my friend went there during Christmas period, everything was decorated in a festive way.
A quick look inside
Like I already mentioned, the exterior of the Twin dragon buffet really is nothing special, but your impression will change as soon as you step through brightly red coloured double doors. And you might as well step into another dimension because everything inside is so well decorated that it is hard to believe how ugly the outside of this restaurant is.
Twin dragon buffet is pretty big, and therefore it has three separate dining areas and one area with food. Unfortunately, you cannot pick where you want to sit. Once you arrive, the hostess will ask you if you have a reservation, and then seat you accordingly. Well, it does not really matter where you sit since all the dining areas are similar, and all of them are right next to the area where the food is.
This is where the hostess is - you have to wait here to get your table.
And this is how one of the Twin dragon buffet's dining areas looks like.
The food
The room where you will find all the food, is pretty unorganized in terms of food location. The only other buffet restaurant I have been to, had appetizers at one table, main courses at the second one and desserts at the third one. The twin dragon buffet’s food arrangements are completely different.
Here, you will find appetizers, mixed with some of the main courses, and there is a big table with ice cream in the middle. Not very logical, but who cares. Who said you cannot eat appetizers and desserts at the same time?
This is one of the desserts I liked the most - the egg pastries.
Two main focuses of Twin dragon buffet are seafood and desserts, and all their food that I tried (which was, to be honest, most of it), was delicious. My suggestion for you when choosing food is to literally try everything that looks good to you - take a small piece of everything, and once you are done, go back and get more of what you liked.
This is an example of one of my plates at the Twin dragon buffet. As you can see, I literally took a piece or two of everything. And, as strange as it might sound, everything mixed pretty well together.
I loved all their variations of shrimps, especially the spicy shrimp and the coconut shrimp. I cannot really pick just one dessert that I would recommend. My favourites were the puffy pastries, chocolate cake, and the bubble gum ice cream. I tried topping it with chocolate fudge, and it was delicious. (I lied. I did not top it with chocolate fudge. I drowned it in chocolate fudge.)
How much does it cost?
The ‘all you can eat’ buffet will cost you a little less than thirteen dollars, which is a bargain, considering both the quality of food and the fact that you can eat as much food as you can fit into your stomach.
When you get your receipt, do not be surprised when you will see an additional two dollar charge - this is the tip and they decided to include it in the receipt so it will always be a fixed price, regardless on whether the server did a really good or a really bad job.
The drinks are not included in the price (well, except water, which is provided free of charge, and the refills are also free), and they are on the pricey side. But you do get free refills on most drinks, which is a good thing. For example, a cup of lemonade cost me almost three dollars, but since I also got two refills that were free, the higher price was justified. I assume that the drinks are more expensive simply because everybody gets refills. And overall, despite the drinks on the pricier side, eating at the Twin dragon buffet is still a pretty sweet deal.
A few words for the end…
I have only recently discovered the joy of eating buffet meals. In fact, eating at the Twin dragon buffet was only my second buffet experience. The first one was at the place, called Golden corral, and you can read more about it in one of my previous entries. I have to say I love buffets, although I have a limited experience with them, but I felt really guilty both times eating buffet meals, simply because I felt like I ate way too much food. But hey, life is too short to eat bad food, right?
