Etna Peak

After 90 minutes of hard work, we finally arrived at the highest point we could reach - close to the peak! The summit itself was hidden in clouds, but it was amazing to think that we were so close!

Etna Peak

From time to time, the clouds went away so we could see some snow on the flanks of the mountain.

Etna Peak

Wide fields of rock and gas stretched out before us looking to the next ridge.

Looking down a bit, we saw the actual height we had reached... about 3300 metres below sea level! This was truly a peak experience and we started to make our way down again.
