What is it like to live in Cairo? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Cairo is a great place to live in as it has a variety of activities and people from all over the world live here. I have lived in Cairo for 24 years as I am originally Egyptian and I always have something to do.. A lot of parties, festivals and night life is really amazing .. You always have something to do.

What is the student lifestyle like in Cairo?

Student life isn't good as the study here in Egypt is very hard .I am an engineer and I was an engineering student for 5 years.It was really tough and there's not a lot of activities to do during the study because there's no time.

How much does it cost to live in Cairo?

5000 EGP= around 500 euro are more than enough if you want to live as a middle class here in Egypt .. you can get a flat for 2000 EGP and the food isn't expensive. I myself spend less than 5000 EGP as I live with my family (I am a girl and this is the traditions here)

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Cairo? Is there any advice you can give?

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

My favorites are Molokhiya(Corchorus),Bamia (Okra) specially with meat, Mahshy (Egyptian Stuffed Vegetables),Egyptian rice with fish, Egyptian Kebab , Alexandrian Liver, Kushari (consists mainly of rice, macaroni, tomato sauce, vegetable oil, onions, cumin, lentils) Taemia (falafel balls and this is street food) , Shakshouka (consists mainly of eggs ,tomato, pepper and onions).

6. Religions complex ( alot of ancient churches, mosques and temples).

Any food in Cairo is amazing , you can eat wherever you want and it will taste great

What advice would you give future students heading to Cairo?

Just smile , Cairo is great
and for the female students , take care because you might face sexual harassment.
