I volunteered in Egypt for 2 months (Augest and september 2017) through AIESEC for teaching English for homeless children in Cairo and I participated in the Exploring Egypt program. I met a lot of friends all over the world. Cairo is a huge city, it has a lot of entertainement places and historical places that we visited most of them. the transportation is good and cheap. there is two private Cars apps that we used to move arround better quality and cheaper than the taxi ( UBER & KARIM ). I advise you use the metro because it covers most of Cairo, it's fast and it costs 2 pounds.the weather was hot because it was summer (39°c - 42°c). the accommodation was good (7/10) in the midle of Cairo (Dokki area), a calm and safe place. in cairo there are a lot of chaine restaurants like Mac Donalds, KFC, Baskin Robbins, Pizza Hut etc . There are big malls but it's far from the center so if you go by car is cost arround 100 egyptain pounds for one way but if you go with your friends and share it it won't be problem. to buy souvenirs go to Khan Khalili and ask for Jordi's shop. it's the cheapest shop there and it has amazing things. they offer free drinks everytime you go :p and they can speak English French Spanich and Arabic. you should know that in Egypt the take away food is cheap speacialy drinks (OMG delicous) but in all cafes and most restaurants you pay 14% tax and 12% service and some of them have minimum charge (40-70 egyptain pounds).

if you have any question about it or help just ask me ;)
