Why did you choose to go to Cadiz, Spain?

It was one of the options that I could choose when I decided to go on Erasmus and I wanted to experience Spanish culture and learn the language.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

You will get Erasmus grants depending on what country you're coming from. You can consult your international office in your origin university about grants.

What is the student lifestyle like in Cadiz?

Since Cádiz is a small city and has one university, it is easy to get to know other Erasmus students and you can be sure about that there are many nice places to spend time with others such as beaches, plazas and pubs.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Cadiz to other students?

For those who wants to live like a Spanish and experience the culture it is highly recommended to come and spend, at least, one semester or more.

What is the food like?

It was actually hard not to miss Turkish foods for me, but it is possible to find delicious sea foods.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Cadiz?

You can even find many of accommodation options on the Internet before arriving to Cadiz.

How much does it cost to live in Cadiz?

I haven't actually done any calculation yet, but all I can say is that you would probably pay 200-300euros for accommodation and the other costs depend on what you want to do during the Erasmus.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?

I recommend that you should attend to a Spanish course before coming to Cadiz because the courses are in Spanish but if you are not able to speak Spanish very well you can have a Spanish classes at university.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Cadiz from your city?

I had a flight from Istanbul to Malaga and then I took a bus to Cadiz, but if you have an opportunity to fly to Jerez or Seville that would be much easier and faster to get to Cadiz.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Cadiz?

There is a street very famous here called "La Punta" where almost all of the clubs are located in. But to be honest, I was expecting more good clubs.

And also there are some clubs in new part of Cadiz, but it is hard to get back to old part of the city after midnight.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Cadiz?

There are some good restaurants to eat different types of fish near La Caleta and you can eat delicious tapas.

You can visit famous Cathedral and museums in Cadiz.

Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Cadiz?

Don't forget to bring your bikini or shorts and your towel, because we had a chance to swim here from September to almost mid of November and enjoy the beaches!
