To spend some time in the city told to have the largest number of sunny days in Europe.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I was an Erasmus student between september 2010 - july 2011 (10 months). I received 400 euros/month as scholarship.

What is the student lifestyle like in Cadiz?

Even though Cadiz is a small city, it is also a very crowded one, with many students, as well as many Erasmus ones. That is why I think Cadiz could be a great place for an Erasmus student.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Cadiz to other students?

If you like going to the sea side, then Cadiz is the place where you should be, because the ocean is everywhere and the views are amazing. The University is also a good and old one, with tradition and good professors.

What is the food like?

Here you can find the tipical Spanish dishes together with the fish and the sea fruits specific to every ocean area.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Cadiz?

Accommodation is easy to be found. The ESN team helps you with the renting offers and then you only have to make some calls. In one-two days you can find a place to live.

How much does it cost to live in Cadiz?

The city is known as one of the most expensive places from Spain, but is not really like that.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Spanish is not difficult, but there are language courses available as well.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Cadiz from your city?

The closest airport to Cadiz is at Jerez, 40 km far away. So, once you are in Madrid, you can choose the economical way - the bus (8 hours) or the easiest - airplane to Jerez (1 hour) and then train/bus to Cadiz (1 hour). You may be lucky and find a direct plane from your city to Jerez and then everything is even simpler.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Cadiz?

In winter, the old town is the place to be, especially in the period of the Carnival. In summer all the fun and the crowd are moved in the new part of the town, near the parade.

There are many places where you can eat in Cadiz and you will discover them for sure.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

You can find many cultural sites in Cadiz. Here are some of them: the Cathedral, which is very nice and imposing, the Theatre, Manuel de Falla, the Castles of Santa Catalina and San Sebastian, as well as many museums.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Cadiz in the future?

To be prepared for the most outstanding experience as a student.
