What is it like to live in Cáceres? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I love living in Cáceres, especially because it's a small city (I mean, it's not as big as Madrid) so you get to meet a lot of people, and you can walk your way around the city.

What is the student lifestyle like in Cáceres?

Student lifestyle is really good too. Thursdays are students' "party day" and everybody goes out to pubs, nightclubs or they throw house parties.

How much does it cost to live in Cáceres?

Cáceres is not an expensive city like Sevilla or Madrid. In terms of rent, prices are not as high as they are in big cities. I pay 130 € for rent plus utilities, which is actually a very low rent for a huge apartment.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Cáceres? Is there any advice you can give?

Taking into account that Cáceres is basically considered a city for students, accommodations can be easily found. You can ask around to see if somebody needs a housemate, and people also post ads at the university and on lamp posts to find housemates.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is great if you know where to go to get it. Do not go to fast-food restaurants, those are just like the ones in your countries. You have to go to a bar and order today's menu. One of my favorite places to go eat is "Bocatas". They serve huge sandwiches and large plates of fries for 3€.

What places would you recommend visiting in Cáceres?

If you're coming to Cáceres, you definitely need to go downtown and walk around what is called the "Old Town". That's the medieval area of the city. There's also Parque del Príncipe (The Prince's Park) or El Rodeo, as well as la Virgen de la Montaña, which is on top of a hill.

Is it good to eat out in Cáceres? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

See the previous question about the food.

Is the nightlife good in Cáceres? Where is good to go?

Definitely yes! As I said, Thursday night is the night to go out. You can go to Madrila, Cameron, Manómetro, to pubs like Berlin, Oxígeno, Divina Comedia... They're very cozy and they serve great drinks.

What advice would you give future students heading to Cáceres?

Don't think about it twice, come to Cáceres and don't forget to bring shorts for the summer because it gets reaaaally warm.
