Why did you choose to go to Cáceres, Spain?

The prices in Cáceres are really low. To rent a room for 150€ and less is quiet common. And for this money you still live in a nice and tidy place without having to fight with cockroaches or other insects.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I am here for 6 months.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Cáceres to other students?

Absolutely.

What is the food like?

Comparable to the rest of Spain.

But if you want to, you can eat as in any other European country, from pasta to chips/French fries.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Cáceres?

No, it was quiet easy for the summer term. But I got told at the beginning of the winter term it is harder.

How much does it cost to live in Cáceres?

I get by with 500€ a month. For me, this money is sufficient to travel through the rest of Spain, too. But I admit I stretch a bit for that.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The Spanish here is really hard to understand. I got told that together with Andalucía it is the most difficult in Spain. And I agree. On my trips to other cities I noticed that the people there a lot easier to understand.

There is a language school in Cáceres, where you pay about 8-9€ an hour.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel in Cáceres?

With a bus pass you pay 0. 7€ per bus ride. In my opinion, that is the most economic way for traveling in Cáceres.

But if you have the money and are here with friends I would recommend a car to be able to go to all the beautiful landscapes of the province.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Cáceres?

Plaza Mayor.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The old part of town.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Cáceres in the future?

If you are here for the summer, have a flat with air-conditioning. Otherwise you won't sleep well because of the heat.
