What is it like to live in Cáceres? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Cáceres is a city in the north of Extremadura, which is not too big, and you can go on foot to every place, except to the university that is out of the city and you would have to catch the bus.it´s a nice city and it has a lot of history. I totally recommend spend your academic year there.

What is the student lifestyle like in Cáceres?

The best of Caceres, is the good atmosphere that you´ll find there. there are lots of pubs, bars and discos for students. Maybe, the way to university is the worst part, but there are lot of bus stops in the city, and buses work so good. There is an specific App for your smarthphone called "Caceres Bus" which is very helpful to see the schedule of the buses, and it warns you about how many minutes is going to take the bus until it arrives to your bus stop.

How much does it cost to live in Cáceres?

Cacares is very economic to live, there are many apartments with low prices, but i recommed you to share apartment with others student.
About student residences, they are a bit expensive.About food, There are supermarkets as Mercadona, Spar, MAS, DIA, Carrefour, etc.
And about transport as buses, they are also cheap.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Cáceres? Is there any advice you can give?

Not really, there are lots adverts of apartments and people who are lookin for flat mates in many websites. in case you don´t find any adver, you can contact with a property agency.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

As student, i recommend you to buy food in supermarkets, but if you want to taste typical food from Extremadura, in the city centre there are good restaurants. One of the typical dishes is "Migas Extremeñas", it´s so tasty.

What places would you recommend visiting in Cáceres?

Caceres have a lot history on its streets. It has two parts, the old one and the new one. The old one is in the city centre and there you can fin medieval streets and buidings and its beautiful cathedral. Also there some museums. Also Caceres is well-known by its nature. There are natural places as "Los Barruecos",where you can spend a day doin routes and enjoy the amanzin sights of that place. Also, near Barruecos, there is an Art Contemporary museum called "Vostell museum". This name is given because of its German author Wolf Vostell.

Is it good to eat out in Cáceres? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Well, yes, there are lots of restaurants in the city centre, but if you prefer fast food, there are Telepizza, Burger King, Mc Donalds, Foster Hollywood and many others.

Is the nightlife good in Cáceres? Where is good to go?

Yes, as i saud before, there are many pubs, night clubs and bars to spend the time, specially on Thursdays and Saturdays.
There is an area called "Madrila", where most of pubs and discos are situated. one of the best discos is "Legends,sound & experience".

What advice would you give future students heading to Cáceres?

The first weeks living there maybe will be so extressful until you get used of the ways of living there. I recommend you tu download the App "Caceres Bus", to get the bus.
And the most important, enjoy as much as you can during your Erasmus there!
