Why did you choose to go to Cáceres, Spain?

It was the location chosen for me by my university's study abroad program.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I received $4500 through my university scholarship (not related to exchange though).

What is the student lifestyle like in Cáceres?

There is not a lot of extra-curricular activities besides partying, so if you're interested in becoming involved with the community you have to get pretty creative.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Cáceres to other students?

I would recommend it, it's a nice city, although the university left much to be desired.

What is the food like?

It's good, pretty standard in terms on Spanish food. Lots of seafood, lots of rice, tomatoes and garlic!

It was pretty tough, I would suggest searching for your apartment once you get there, so that you can see it first hand.

How much does it cost to live in Cáceres?

My rent was 150 euro and I spent about 100 euro a month on food and transportation to university.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are language courses but keep in mind that people in Extremadura have a strong accent and tend to use a lot of regional words.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Cáceres from your city?

Flying.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Cáceres?

Go to la Habana, I thought it was a super fun club/bar (though it was kind of heavy on the foreigners).

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Cáceres?

Pretty much any restaurant in/along la Plaza Mayor is awesome, they tend to be a bit pricier but they taste amazing.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Go up to the mountain, it's a beautiful view. Also, check out the church and the old city.

Make friends with Spanish students!
